They are more likely than cisgender/heterosexual people to lack health insurance, and they face other barriers to accessing healthcare – especially among those who are people of color, undocumented, or low-income.
Donate NowThe problem is the continuation and hate crime that is discrimination against the LGBTQ+ in all aspects of health care: therapeutic, diagnostic, treatment. The major obstacles to implementing positive and lasting change are deeply rooted systematic homophobia and transphobia -- reluctance from religious, cultural, and political institutions to accept individuals that do not conform to established norms of gender and sexuality.
